Yağlama dinner is a traditional Turkish meal that typically consists of various meats and vegetables cooked in a special way. It is a popular and flavorful dish that is commonly served during special occasions or gatherings. Let’s make the yağlama, here’s recipe of yağlama;

How be made Yağlama;

  • Step 1

    Take 4 cups of flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Add 1 cup of warm milk, 1 tablespoon of yeast, olive oil, and salt, 1 dessert spoon of sugar and mix.

    Slowly add 1 cup of lukewarm water and knead the dough. Sprinkle a clean bowl with flour and transfer the prepared dough into it.

    Cover it with stretch film and let it rise at room temperature until it doubles in size, for about 40 minutes. After it has risen, divide the dough into small balls and cover them with a cloth for another 10 minutes to rise.

    For the filling, dice 1 onion. Take a pan and sauté the ground meat lightly.

    Then add the onions and sauté them. Once the onions are sautéed, add 3 grated tomatoes.

    Add 1.5 tablespoons of tomato paste and let it cook. Then gradually add ½ cup of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper.

    Cook for another 5-6 minutes and then remove from heat.

    Sprinkle some flour on the countertop and roll out each ball with a rolling pin.

    Take a non-stick pan and heat it on the stove. Transfer the rolled dough onto the heated pan and cook on both sides. Repeat the same process with all the dough.

    After cooking all the sheets, layer one cooked sheet, followed by the prepared minced meat filling, and then another sheet.

    Continue layering the filling and the sheets until you run out.

    Once all the filling and sheets are used, pour 3-4 tablespoons of yogurt on top and garnish with finely chopped parsley. Slice and serve. Enjoy your meal.
