Step 1
Remove the heads of the sardines and clean the insides thoroughly. Wash them in a bowl with plenty of water, add some salt and leave in strainer to be strained from more water.

Finely chop the onions. Clean the parsley leaves, wash them, dry them and finely chop them.

Finely chop the garlic cloves. Cut the tomatos in half.

Lightly grease the bottom of the baking tray. Spread the finely chopped onions on the bottom of the tray. Sprinkle the chopped garlic over the onions.

.Place the sardines, which the heads have been removed and after have been salted, strained more water on onions.

Sprinklw the tomatos and bay leaf over the sardines.

Squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl, add the finely chopped parsley, a little salt and freshly ground balck pepper. Mix the ingredients and pour the mixture over the sardines.

Cover the meal with greaseproof paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees, after remove the greaseproof paper and cook foe an additional 10 minutes.
